I'm new here as you might of guessed! Just thought i'd say hi and ask if anyone's got any tips on how to make lucid dreams more frequent? I've tried lots of techniques but they don't really work. Help would be gratefully appreciated. :)
Thanks in advance,

Lucid Dreaming Survey
Greetings, fellow dreamers!
If you find the time to answer any of the following questions, my gratitude will be sincerely yours:
1. What, in your opinion, are the benefits of lucid dreaming? How has lucid dreaming affected you?
2. What is your opinion on the nature of lucid dreaming? Should lucid dreaming be examined rationally? Spiritually?
3. How did you get into lucid dreaming? Did you feel "weirded out" by the learning process, or did the process seem natural to you?
4. What do you feel when lucid? Does your mental state change?
5. Are there any dreaming experiences - lucid or otherwise - that stand out in your memory?
6. [other comments]
Thank you so much!

New Project/Old Project
Whichever way we go, let's start something up! Due to my getting lazy and assuming somehow the project would run itself (Rule number one of any group project: Delegate responsibility) the last one crashed and burned. This time I can deal with running it if everyone agrees, or if someone else would like to share responsibility (anyone? I have cookies?) then let me know. Current Mood: Sheeplemeeple

Is any one still working on this? .... or care?
|Thursday, April 14th, 2005|
Due to a desire to 'kickstart' this project, I feel we could eliminate posting rules, we think we can first just do the project to get the hang of it and THEN continue but more scientifically.
Anyone have any objections? Alternatives (always looking for something better) or interjections? By all means give them if you do :) Current Mood: can'tsleepfnordswilleatme

Ready, set, GO!
As of now, if you still want to participate and have not started with the exercise, do so.
You can find methods for contacting the record-keeper in previous posts.
And, just to see who all still reads this, roll-call! Reply to this post if you still have an interest.

We have, upon contemplating, decided to set the official start date as the 25th of this month (March) due to the occurrence of a full moon. Should all members find themselves amenable to such, we shall do so and operate for the period of one (1) full moon cycle, or until the 24th of April. At that time, we shall decide whether or not to pursue the exercise further.
Agreed? Current Mood: quirky

We apologize lately for our (don't mind the use of multiple selves) lack of involvement with the exercise.
We would like to ask who, if anyone, has begun sending symbols, as we never did quite set an official start or ending date and would like to do so. Also do we feel that our group should send a complete dream-log each night to _infinitedreamz
or just report any "unusual" findings? Personally, we feel that sometimes in our dreams, things which we may not find unusual could have a basis in someone's symbolism. As we know of many central themes that run through our dreamings and know that a person could possibly decide to unknowingly send us a symbol of something we dream about all the time.
If the transmission of symbols has already begun, we would appreciate hearing who has done so and when it started, as we have recorded our dreams every night and could easily transpose all dreams from a certain night onward to a form for our log.
If, any others have decided to wait for an official start, then we can also decide that.

Hey, I just joined, I think the concept of shared dreaming is...I don't think there's a word for it heh, but hello there everyone.

Oops! As erauqs
pointed out, I accidentally posted this to my personal journal instead of to here. So here goes again...
I agree with erauqs
regarding use of cuts. Potentially, even a single unintended glance at the symbol written in the person's journal might prod the subconcious. Also, I have sqrlcub
on my LJ friend's list, so I saw the original (uncut) post.
How about this: we all set ourselves up a Friends filter including only _infinitedreamz
, and when we post regarding potential symbols we post only through that filter (to shared_lucidity
). That should keep things nice and koscher.
In that case...
Since there has been some discontent with LJ cuts, and I'm the data collector, you can feel free to email me your sending/receiving dreams at: email@example.com, or simply post them as a screened comment on a public entry I'll make on my journal in a few minutes. The screening will prevent anyone, except me from seeing them.
If anyone else would rather use an alternate method, feel free to suggest it.

Hello you can call me Navi. I live in Atlanta GA. I like art, music and the questioning of reality. I always seem to be confused about something. I am 22 and have brown hair and blue eyes and of Irish descent. I love to dream, I have a good memories of most all my dreams I tend to write the ones down that stand out. I am not so great at lucidity but I am working on it. My dreams tend to be more prophetic or psychic. I am looking forward to receive any “objects” sent to me in the dream world. I will also try to send out mine if I get the chance. :)
If anyone feels "too tempted" to not look behind LJ cuts, we can devise another method. However, if cuts work for everyone, so be it :).
hi/ i'm rich, or chi chi.. i'm 18, an live near detroit, MI.. lived here all my life.. have been dreaming all my life. some of my most significantly memorable dreams have been while i was awake an never realized i was daydreaming, and often hav to keep waking up several times before i come too where i'm supposed to be??
i write, paint, and read alot. i also dj at underground parties in the metro detroit area, usually UK Hardcore, breakbeat, trance, an dark drum n bass. i'm attending the recording institute of detroit, in eastpoint, MI.. an am due to finish in a couple months.
mos of my dreaming persona and/or being is my way of projekting myself into everything... i often meet people in my dreams, before i meet them in real life. i also recently had a rather unusual encounter with a close friend, where we both had the same dream of each other on the same nite.. i hav a couple astral totems, including a pink wolf, a brite fiery pheonix, an a lite sky blu baby dragon.. i associate myself mostly with saturn because of my ability to condense my chakras into tite rings and in a sense extend myself for long distances without spreading out my self..

You may send your dream symbols to me at firstname.lastname@example.org, but if you find yourself without dreamail access then feel free to focus on the following mebits: 35, artist, musician, teacher, wife, mother, which. I look like my user pic here, only in color. I've been lucid dreaming for many years, but am experiencing a dry spell at the moment.

Looks like I'm not dreaming, but it's good to get back into practice.
First off, gave mod status to _infinitedreamz
, although even with the community I remain somewhat uncertain as to the exact method you would prefer to keep the data "confidential". As long as our info stays where it belongs, I personally don't care about the method(s) used.
Secondly... you can call me Erauqs, don't worry about the pronunciation. You can actually call me whatever you like, but I've used that alias online for 8 years now, so I figure it will work fine. I live near Sacramento, California and have supposedly seen 21 years pass, although I think I remember maybe 3 years of it concretely. Mirrors in "reality" show red hair and blue/grey/bluegreen eyes, although mirrors in my dreams often show otherwise. I tend to try and speak and think in verbs or constantly shifting patterns of nouns rather than singularities, but forget sometimes. I find great interest in any and all functions of consciousness, including psychology, "magick", and "religion." I remember about 90-100% of my dreams if I make sure to write them down immediately, and have spotty moments of lucidity. I tend to detach from my dreams for a few moments, long enough to change things or act consciously, and then get immersed again. I also have a tendancy towards verbosity and long-windedness :) Current Mood: hummm....
I had originally written this as a comment under the first post, but I saw that someone else just made an entry. Plus, my comment was pretty fast because I was in school....
My name is Helena. I'm 26 and I live in Skelleftehamn, Sweden (northern sweden), but I'm from Ohio originally. I'm a student, planning on studying socialwork. I studied history for awhile in the states before I moved here (when I was 23). I listen to a lot of music (anything and everything! Right now it's a lot of Nick Cave). I had my first lucid dream ever just 2 nights ago! I'm 5'3, I don't know how much I weigh, but I'm average, I have red hair, green eyes, and freckles. I'm half greek, and the other half is american indian, irish and a couple other things. I cook a lot, read, spend infinite amounts of time on my computer, and I have a cat, Oskar. Oh yeah, and I'm married. hahah.
Good day to you
Well, if an intro is in order, here goes:
My name is Don. I live in a fairly small town named Johnstown, Pennsylvania. Soon to be 23 years old (March 24th), 5'9", 140ish lbs, long black hair, and green eyes. I've been playing guitar for a number of years, but not currently in a band. My favorite genre being heavy metal, however, I do enjoy quite a wide variety of other genres as well. I also enjoy cartoons, coffee, video games, and tacos. But, I'll just be recording your data this time around.
Hey all! Very excited to be participating in this experiment.
I thought that it would be helpful if we all quickly introduced ourselves and said a few words, so that we'd have some idea of who we're attempting to transmit our symbols to.
My name is Jon, and I live near Calgary, Alberta, Canada. I am currently at college, in a landscaper apprenticeship program. I am 6'5, age 24, friendly, a musician and poet.
